I am however an open-minded bi / pansexual / sapiosexual poly guy... I honestly am not particularly concerned with my partners' physical equipment, certainly not nearly so concerned as with their personality.
I've discovered in the past few months that I'm probably also autistic and am pursuing a diagnosis for Asperger Syndrome (AS). I mention it here because I realize that it's part of my fundamental nature, something I was born with, and that although I didn't know about it before, the way that autism has made it difficult for me to learn social skills has resulted in me being sort of a pariah. I'm not sure if I'm explaining it well -- again, because social skills are a challenge for me... but basically just acknowledging that I understand what it's like to experience prejudice against things that aren't by choice. There's talk amongst the autistic community of "passing for normal" in much the same way gay people talk about "passing for straight" -- and then being bisexual or pansexual of course, I'm also well familiar with how even other people in alt-sex communities can sometimes be equally as prejudiced, claiming that bisexuals don't exist or are just "sitting on the fence" and need to make up their mind, etc... I'm also aware that gender identity is separate from sexual preference.
So the reason I joined this tribe is because I noticed that one of my recent friends is in it and I'm interested in meeting people in the trans community and having a better understanding of the challenges faced in dating, etc.
Being poly I am open to dating not limited to trans, but I'm open to dating trans. I'm also a member of the bio-boys for ftms tribe for similar reasons -- I was invited by the moderator if I remember correctly.
p.s. I have no feelings really one way or the other about the term "bio-boys", because I'm not trans -- I know some folks find it offensive -- it's just the name of the tribe, and the moderator actually posted a fairly lengthy explanation of his choice -- just let me know how you prefer me to describe it, and if I can remember then I'll describe it that way. :)
